"Based on the proposal, some of the main stations for the LRT would be located in Sections 2, 7, 9, 13 and 14, located near Shah Alam Stadium, UiTM, Kompleks PKNS and Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah.
"There is already an approved LRT line from Kelana Jaya to Glenmarie. We just want the LRT line to be extended to serve other parts of Shah Alam which has a population of more than 650,000 and where business is thriving," said Azhari yesterday, after handing over a memorandum to Prasarana managing director Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar.

A PROPOSAL is in the works to build a light rail transit (LRT) line from Glenmarie to i-City in Shah Alam, and link it to the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) in Sungai Buloh, Selangor.
Shah Alam Umno chief Azhari Shaari said a feasibility study was ongoing
and Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd was expected to submit the findings
to the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) next month for review.

Azhari

"We think the link to the MRT should begin from Section 14 as it is heavily populated and is popular with tourists."
